Sony Pictures Entertainment released the first official trailer of the Goosebumps movie which is based on the book series by R. L. Stine. I have to say it looks wicked. My child-like self is jumping for joy as it seems Jack Black is playing the role of R. L. Stine.
Part of my cringes that I didn’t keep all of my Goosebumps novels but I have to remind myself that other kids are probably enjoying them now.
Now that the beloved award-winning series is making it’s debut on the big screen, I feel like a kid again and am excited for the Goosebumps movie release on October 16th, just in time for Halloween (as it should be).
R. L. Stine was the first taste I had of the horror, mystery, fantasy and sci-fi genre. It definitely played it’s part in my love for these genres today.
I remember having to argue (a bit) with my parents to let me read the series or watch the show because they thought it might be “too scary” for my young self. However, after reading A Night in Terror Tower in the school library, I was hooked and would not be swayed to read and/or own the rest. Luckily my parents conceded that I could handle the book series (and TV show) and I then proceeded to devour the rest.
Oh, the memories.
I loved it.
